As jet fuel prices have nearly doubled due to global tensions, the airline has concluded that some routes are no longer financially profitable to maintain. Flights from Toronto and Montreal to JFK will be suspended until late October, leading to concerns about escalating travel costs, reduced connectivity, and potential disruptions across the aviation industry.
The airline disclosed that fuel expenditures have doubled since the commencement of the Middle East conflict, necessitating stringent decisions to scale back operations.

Among the impacted routes are flights between Toronto and Montreal, routes connecting to JFK Airport in New York, and additional routes across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
It is recommended that travelers plan ahead, as the impact on air travel may persist in the coming months.
The suspensions are set to commence in June, with select routes undergoing temporary pauses. This development is consistent with a broader global aviation trend, as airlines contend with rising fuel costs, resulting in higher operational costs being passed on to the traveling public and reduced flight options.
